The Wine Recommendations

Domaine Léon Boesch
2012 Brut Zéro

Where Alsace, France
Grape Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Riesling
Ag Organic
SO2 Low
Price$26
Alsace sparklers can be fantastic. Case in point, this number from Boesch. The still wine hangs out in foudres for two years and gets no dosage. But you knew that. Great depth from a sparkler, a bit of rich biscuit, with a metallic, ironic edge.

Domaine Jousset
2014 Clos Aux Renards Singulier

Where Montlouis-sur-Loire, Loire Valley, France
Grape Chenin Blanc
Ag Biodynamic
SO2 Minimal
Price$32
Is it the next cult wine? Perhaps. Beautiful. Importers were fighting over these from Lise and Bertrand at the last Dive Bouteille, even though they were in plain sight for years. But anyway, they have landed in NYC. From 60- to 80-year-old vines. The Clos is a 100-year-old vine. It’s got plenty of depth, apple, flush and filled with bitter juicy goodness.
