A Scene Grows in Vermont
Doggy Blue Carrillo in the La Garagista West Addison Vineyard.
Imagine a vinous vision of America’s Got Talent. A wood nymph-eyed, anchovy-loving vigneronne takes the stage. The panel asks her, “And where are you from?”
“I’m from Indiana but for over thirty years, Vermont has been my home with my husband Caleb.”
“And what do you do?”
“I farm grapes and make wine and cider in Vermont.”
The judges hear Vermont, wrinkle their noses, and then sneer. Then they drink, look at each other in disbelief. Jaws drop. Eyes well up. The judges get chills. The audience goes wild.
