The collective culinary and wine histories of Canadian ex-pats Etheliya Hananova (wine director, sommelier) and her husband Noam Gedalof (chef) include The French Laundry, Le Sergent Recruteur and Mokonuts. Nice, right? But landing their first Michelin star for their first restaurant Comice, only four months after opening the doors was showing the Parisian locals what outsiders could do. The only problem is their 16th arr. address. Nevertheless, a starving Ms. Uncouth Vermouth and I braved the poshness during the February 2018 Paris “blizzard”—all 2.5 inches of the white stuff—to get there.
