‘Nothing added, nothing removed,’ goes one commonly accepted natural winemaking principle. But lately certain natural winemakers in Alsace and beyond have begun to test the limits of what defines a winemaking additive by adding homeopathic treatments to wine. If an additive has no scientifically measurable effect on a wine, is it truly an additive after all?
