Exploring the Dirt: Basalt

Basalt, straight from the earth’s core to the glass. I was out west preparing to get into trouble. My task was to talk terroir at Walt Whitman College. During the down time, Professor Kevin Pogue ferried me around to see some of the local Walla Walla soils. After all, the geologist is involved in local dirt research especially focused on the Columbia Basin.
