Field Notes: November 22nd, 2023
Here we go; the season is upon us. So a short and sweet note. But first, a graf or three on thanks.
My friends know I have a fear of Thanksgiving. Bad habits die hard. This deeply rooted reaction of mine definitely improved once I found Lambrusco, which I believe to be the best Thanksgiving wine ever (or Ci Confondo from La Garagista if you want that domestic kick). However, my best Thanksgiving ever was in Hokkaido last year, where the holiday was never mentioned and I think we had soba and drank Takahiko. Nevertheless, in this moment, I’m focused on the thanks aspect. And especially as it relates to this newsletter, which is in its 10th year.
